Felix Pong is a New Zealand/Hong Kong composer currently living in Japan. Started to play the violin since the age of three, Felix has been mentored by Composer/Violinist Professor BaoZhi-Yang of the Central Conservatory of Music. He then went to London to study with Professor Yossi Zivoni for violin performance and composition and composition for screen (Professors: Dr. Alison Kay, Dr.Haris Kittos, Enrica Sciandrone and Hollywood composer Mike Ladouceur) for his Bachelor at the Royal College of Music.
After Felix graduated from the Royal College of Music, he went to Japan and did a varieties of work including scoring a short animation, producing, mixing and recording EDM/pop songs for a smartphone game and also music used by celebrities and idols. Felix teaches the violin as well and works as a session violinist. He also do translation for people in the industry since he speaks fluent English, Japanese, Chinese Mandarin and Chinese Cantonese.
Felix have been incredibly lucky and are thankful for the opportunities to study and meet so many great teachers and figure in the industry. With all the culture exposure and music influences, Felix developed his own approach towards how he treats music and sound. He now decided to release his own EP “Sketches” as a demo reel for his music in the style that writes for pictured media as a reference for future projects.
